I am no longer interested in the World Series. Well, maybe I am, I'd prefer that Texas not win, but then I preferred that Milwaukee would be playing Detroit. I watched some of the playoff games, and there were to many missed calls, balls and strikes, safe and out, that it just doesn't come up to the standards I expect after having the reviews available in football. For one thing, the strike zone keeps getting lower and lower. Batters that crouch lower it, because their shoulders are lower, and this thing of the umpire having to determine a line at the midpoint between the top of the batter's shoulders and the top of his pants is a bunch of crap. Just make it chest high (ok the nipples if you will) and forget it. Just use the box that TBS displays, let it call the balls and strikes and forget the umpire behind the plate. As far as this theory that the first base umpire listens for the ball hitting the glove, everyone knows that light travels faster than sound, and besides some of these umpires are hard of hearing.
And the season for playing baseball has gotten as bad as daylight savings time. Both should not begin before mid April and end by mid October. OK? These are a few of the reasons baseball is really no longer the national game. Now, I will take all of your nasty comments and ignore them.
